The Tutoring Program
The Tutoring Program , an initiative of CVIJOBS/The Career Centre , offers free one-on-one tutoring for adults over 18 who want to:
- Improve literacy skills
- Strengthen math skills
- Acquire basic computer knowledge
- Or study English as a Second Language
The applicant’s learning goals are individually assessed, then they are matched with a trained tutor.
The tutoring schedule is flexible, decided by the student and tutor. Tutoring space and learning resources are provided by the Tutoring Program.
The Tutoring Program also offers free ESL Conversation Groups and access to computer language learning programs.
This assistance is FREE for any Citizen, Permanent Resident, TFW or UN Refugee.
The volunteer tutors are members of the Oceanside community, dedicating their time and energy to carry out this important work. The Tutoring Program’s volunteers have helped over 2000 adults reach their goals since the Program began in 1989.
